Client Quilts

This is my favourite client quilt yet!!  It’s going to be entered in the local fair in a couple of weeks and I am featured as the machine quilter.  I’m hoping it will do well.  I think it deserves to do well.  It’s very square, measuring perfectly: 78.5″ x 100″.  I love rainbow quilts!  The [...]

My friend gave me 7 flimsies to machine quilt over the last while and here’s the second last one done.  It’s another girlfriend quilt like the last one, somewhat different.  It’s also quilted with ‘hearts’.  Here are the pics: Next on the list is a couple of community quilts for the Common Threads Quilt Guild.

My friend went on a piecing frenzy over the winter.  I think she gave me 7 quilts to machine quilt.  Here’s the third last one.  (This one and the next one are very similar)   It’s quilted with hearts because it’s a girlfriend quilt.  Here are pics:

I find that seeing an idea on the screen really helps.  I had another vision for my Ikea fabric.  I think I like this one better than the last one.  This idea is inspired by a quilt that Barbara at CatPatches is working on.  I thing her blocks are 19″ or something.  I’m not sure [...]

It’s been several hours since I posted the last post and I’ve done the centre panel quilt that I mentioned was next on my list.  Outside the centre panel I chose to stipple because I didn’t want the stitching to speak loudly.  The outside borders are dark, so the stippling shows up there but the [...]

My friend has been on a rampage! Not the angry kind, or cleaning kind, but the flimsy kind. I have a bunch of flimsies of hers that have to be machine quilted. I got these two done for Thursday (a couple of days back) but I was in such a hurry to get them to [...]

Well, not really, of course.  That’s what my friend predicted when she started working on this flimsy.  It was commisioned by her husband for a co-worker.  Perhaps my friend’s heart hadn’t ever been fully into this project but she lost impetus when the dimensions of the finished quilt changed from square and then she lost [...]

My good friend’s daughter was coming home for Thanksgiving.  Daughter had mentioned that since the support staff at her university was on strike, her room was colder than she liked and she wanted another blanket to bring back with her.  My good friend, being a quilter, did not run to the store to buy, but [...]

I didn’t entirely like this flimsy when I was given it to quilt.  My friend got a really good deal on it but it turned out to have a lot of tucks, it wasn’t square, and it was made of all kinds of fabrics, only some of which were all cotton.  And to top it [...]

Goodness, as I typed the date, hasn’t the time flown lately!!  As promised, I did work on piecing the client TATW yesterday.  I joined the 4 quadrants after picking a centre which wasn’t too dark in the fabric my friend chose.  Then I added a row to 3 sides and I’m assembling lots more rows [...]
