I find that seeing an idea on the screen really helps.  I had another vision for my Ikea fabric.  I think I like this one better than the last one.  This idea is inspired by a quilt that Barbara at CatPatches is working on.  I thing her blocks are 19″ or something.  I’m not sure now.  I’ll be working out the squares of flower fabric to be about 5″, the coloured ‘frames?’ 1″ and the white either 2″ or when on either side of the coloured frames 1″. These measurements would result in 8″ blocks.  It’ll all depend on what size works for the Ikea fabric.  I don’t want to cut the flowers up too small.

Now, I’ll let this sit for a while and we’ll see how I feel about it in a day or so.

There’s been absolutely no progress on the quilt for my bed.  It’s really bugging me that I can’t make myself finish that flimsy.  Wouldn’t it be nice to know what makes that happen?

I should mention that I haven’t been a completely lazy bum.  I got another flimsy machine quilted for my friend.  3 more to go for her.  Here are pics:

The quilt is flatter than it looks because it’s been folded for a couple of days, waiting for the weather to get warmer.  We’ve had a very early warm spring, tulips blooming way ahead of the annual tulip festival, even slow trees budding.  Then winter came back to see if we were missing him.  I swear the trees pulled swelling buds back in.  I had taken the heater out of the chicken coop and then was wondering if that was premature.

It was nice to get actual laundry back on the line today too.  Although it’s gotten a bit dark/cloudy suddenly, the laundry got nice and dry.  In spring, I find it a bit hard to tell if it will dry well or not.  Sometimes, it’ll take all day to dry sheets.  I took a chance with a pants laundry today but it worked out.  I better get them in now before the dew settles.
