Well, not really, of course. That’s what my friend predicted when she started working on this flimsy. It was commisioned by her husband for a co-worker. Perhaps my friend’s heart hadn’t ever been fully into this project but she lost impetus when the dimensions of the finished quilt changed from square and then she lost interest entirely when she fell ill. That’s how the project came to live with me. My friend knew that my busy season at work was almost upon me and that this project would likely experience a delay before it was finished. That did indeed happen but the friend and the ultimate owner were all very patient, for which I was very grateful.
One important thing I learned with this quilt is to avoid a dark backing fabric. This quilt back was ‘miracle’ brushed a LOT!
Another thing I should mention is that the quilt is intentionally asymetical lengthwise. The lady getting the quilt wants to tuck it under the pillows, back out and then over them. It’s designed so that the big square will fall on the main part of the bed. I hope that’s kind of clear.
