Anyone interested in seeing all the results of the H2H quilt challenge that Sarah initiated way back in April?  I’ve had the H2H button on my site since April explaining the rules.  Boy that sounds like a long time ago doesn’t it?  Goodness.  Judi of Green Fairy Quilts will be bringing these quilts to Romania very soon where children in the orphanage will get them.  Such a worthwhile cause for sure!

We’re all pulled to donate to so many causes now.  This one is well down on the list of  ‘visible’ ones but these children’s urgency is great too, just not as news worthy.  Sometimes I feel like helping a smaller cause might do more good than one of these large ones where rebel forces are actually contributing to the hardship.  It’s so hard.  I’m pulled so much that there’s a tendency to inaction.  At least these children sitting with nothing in an orphanage waiting to be expelled into an unfriendly world got me going to sew a quilt.  Who knows if it will do any good whatsoever.

I ache with all the unhappiness in the world.  Why do some people “have” and others do not??  Surely they don’t deserve their fate.  I just don’t understand what’s going on.  And then there is the issue of what the “haves” are doing to ruin the earth.  This experiment is going terribly off the rails.  It’s time to end this madness.  But how…

I know exactly what you mean. When I watch the news, I feel overwhelmed. When I looked at all of the quilts that were made for the H2H challenge I felt good, but It also seemed like a drop in the bucket. Even when I viewed the video on the Green Fairy Quilts site, I thought the food that was distributed would last a week and then those people would be hungry and without resources again.
I try to find things that I can do to help even one person in some small way. I am inspired by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, “We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”
