Goodness, as I typed the date, hasn’t the time flown lately!! As promised, I did work on piecing the client TATW yesterday. I joined the 4 quadrants after picking a centre which wasn’t too dark in the fabric my friend chose. Then I added a row to 3 sides and I’m assembling lots more rows to add to the 4th side. The lady this quilt is for wants to tuck it under her pillow, back out and then over the pillow. It’s going to be a monstrously large one to machine quilt. I’ll be doing that too.
And someone else is coming by to drop off a flimsy today. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Looks like I’ll be inside and downstairs a lot this summer.
So, what did I get done this week: a bunch of baby bibs, a bunch of service dog coats and some piecing. Just trudging along. I haven’t got a picture of the flimsy yet first because it’s not done and second because it’s been raining non-stop for a couple of days now. Spring was so wet, farmer’s seeds either drowned or floated away. The corn that did catch is very uneven. Then came extreme heat. So everything shot out of the ground. Then it wouldn’t rain again. Lawns turned brown like late summer. Now it’s rain time, like a big pail spilled from above. My flowers are flattened. I mean, when do daylillies lie down? And the nights are very cool. Nice for sleeping but the crops are wondering what to do and growing is off the list right now. A very strange year so far. Such extremes.
