It’s been a busy week. On Monday, I’d already gotten my jewelbox quilt all quilted. All that was left to do was sew down the prairie points. That’s all done now.
My quilt is on the bed, looking quite good, I think. Next was my friends jewelbox or gemstones quilt that she did in the same class.
Amazing how you can take the same pattern, make different fabric choices and come up with something so completely different. I’ve finished quilting her quilt too, and sewn on the binding.
February 4th seems like a LONG time ago when I was auditioning fabrics for my quilt. I hope the process wasn’t too tedious for anyone following. Is this what’s meant by blogging the ‘process’.
I gave my friend a choice of stitching patterns:
She chose Mad Hens like her last quilt for her son.
And here’s a detail look at the Mad Hens stitching pattern.
Next on my list: the 4 community quilts. They will be quick because they’re all 45 x 60″ or there abouts and these ones were 70 x 90″ each.

Great job. Your quilt is wonderful. Isn’t it a good feeling with you see your quilt on a bed the first time
Congrats on getting your jewel box quilt done! I really like that quilt, and you’re right, your friend’s quilt looks completely different with the colors grouped. Nice job!
Those are beautiful, Rita! I love both of them, and your quilting pattern is really neat. Isn’t it nice to finish that last stitch on the binding? I’m hoping to feel some of that by tomorrow night….. Whoop whoop!!!
The jewel quilt looks lovely on the bed!
