Today I’m not going to be asking for a Whoop!Whoop! I’ll be shouting it! I won Sarah’s linky party give-away prize!! I cannot!!! believe it!! It’s not like I’ve entered a lot of these things. There are always SO many people entering give-aways that it seems like almost lottery-like odds. So, usually I save myself the trouble and move on. Ha! I, me, won. What a lovely surprise!!

Also, I don’t deserve an accomplishment Whoop!Whoop! today. All I got done this week is that mammoth quilt that resulted in all those nasty thread breaks. But I persevered and it’s out the door!! Ya!!  I posted all about that trial yesterday.  Perhaps we’ll have one more look at it before it is allowed to peacefully fade in our memories:

Large double quilt with modified Mad Chickens stitching pattern

jewelbox small double quilt without prairie points yet

Oh, and I got the borders on my jewelbox quilt for class yesterday, but that took no time at all and somehow, after I had mocked it up to see what it all was going to look like earlier in the week, it seemed like it was done already.   Next week, I plan to have those prairie points done too.  (Maybe even quilted.  Wouldn’t that be great!)  It just doesn’t look finished yet.  I put the quilt back on the bed to make sure it fit again.  At class yesterday, another lady who was making a large version of the jewelbox had hers done (and, man, is it ever nice!!) and it was like twice the size of mine.  So, I got all worried.  Yes, mine still fits.

Meanwhile, you all should go to Sarah’s Confessions of a Fabric Addict site to see what other people have gotten accomplished this week. That’s where I’m going right now. Toodles!!

Hey Rita, I found something else we have in common, I have a friend that just moved back to the States from Canada. Very small world. I love your jewelbox quilt.

Beautiful quilting, even though it sounds like it was a major challenge, that quilt! I had some thread breakage and bobbin winding issues on the one I just finished, so I feel your pain. Yay on winning the giveaway! Keep entering them, the odds are way better than the lottery. I’ve won 2 giveaways in the past month, and I don’t enter everything I see either, just here and there. Lots of fun. Enjoy your booty! Er, winnings, that is… :)

  3. P. says:

Oh, PS, the jewel box quilt is gorgeous! I heart the colors of the wall and ceiling in that room.

  4. Susan says:

Congratulations on winning the giveaway!!! I never win them either, but I keep entering them. Maybe someday . . .

It’s not quite like the lottery – you don’t have to pay to enter! Just a little time, that’s all! I sweated along with you on that quilt and you definitely deserve a whoop whoop for finishing it – so here you go – Whoop Whoop!!! Do you use a longarm or a midarm? PS love the jewelbox quilt…..
